Religious Education & Sacramental Preparation 2020 - 2021

Updated: Nov 23, 2020

As we continue to navigate these uncertain times and adapt to evolving requirements at federal, local, and diocesan levels, the following information is subject to change.

Due to the present COVID-19 pandemic which has impacted the availability of our in-person classes, the Religious Education (R.E.) and Sacramental Preparation program for Holy Family this year will be a home study program.

Registration for R.E. and sacramental preparation at Holy Family (for persons ages 7+) is available through our website: [HERE]. This online form will be available until and through October 31, 2020.  Age-appropriate R.E. materials will be ordered during November, based on October enrollment.

Using these materials, parents will be responsible for their children's religious education from the Advent season until and through the Easter Octave.  Periodically, candidates for sacraments may be evaluated on their progress via video conferencing with parish staff.  Further details on this process will be made known as they become available.

Those hoping to receive any or all of the sacraments of initiation in the Easter season of 2021 should keep the following dates in mind:

Saturday, April 3, 2021, time TBD (Easter Vigil): Baptisms, Confirmations, and First Holy Communions (all three sacraments) for unbaptized converts to Catholicism (ages 7+) will occur at this celebration.  Full reception into the Catholic Church by non-Catholic Christian converts will also happen at this celebration.

Sunday, May 23, 2021, time TBD (Pentecost): Confirmations and First Holy Communions for Catholics will be at this celebration.  Due to the possible necessity for social distancing, the scheduling of additional Masses may become necessary to accommodate the number of people requesting sacraments.
